Privacy Policy

This site, Easy GPA Converter, was designed to require as little of your data as possible. Most of what we describe in this policy is industry-standard information about how the modern web works, not because we collect a lot but because we want to be transparent about what does happen.

What we collect

Things you enter into calculators

Nothing you type into any of our calculators leaves your browser. There is no server-side processing of your subjects, grades, percentages, or any other input. All calculations run as JavaScript in your browser and the data exists only in memory until you close the page.

Local storage

The only thing this site saves on your device is your dark-mode preference, stored in your browser's local storage under the key egc-theme. You can clear it any time from your browser's site-data controls. No personally identifying information is stored.

Server logs

Like every website on the internet, our web host records standard request logs for security and reliability — IP addresses, requested URLs, timestamps, user-agent strings, and referrers. These logs are retained for a short period and used only for operating and securing the site. They are not used for advertising or shared with third parties beyond what's required by the hosting provider.

Analytics

We use a lightweight, privacy-respecting analytics setup to understand which pages are visited and roughly where visitors come from. Analytics does not use cross-site tracking cookies, does not build advertising profiles, and does not collect anything that personally identifies you. Aggregate page-view counts are all we look at.

Advertising

This site may display advertising provided by third-party networks such as Google AdSense. Ad networks may set cookies and collect anonymous usage information to serve relevant ads, in accordance with their own privacy policies. You can opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ad Settings and at aboutads.info. We do not pass any personal data to advertisers.

Cookies

The site itself sets no first-party tracking cookies. Third-party services we use (analytics, advertising, or embedded content) may set their own cookies. The cookie policy explains this in more detail.

Email correspondence

If you contact us by email, we'll have your email address and whatever else you choose to include in the message. We keep that correspondence only as long as needed to respond and follow up, and we never add email addresses to any marketing list.

Children

The site is intended for general academic use and is suitable for users of all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through this site, please contact us and we'll delete it.

Your rights

Because we don't hold an account-based record of you, there's typically nothing to access, correct, or delete on our side. If you've emailed us and want your message removed from our inbox, send a request from the same address and we'll do so.

Data security

The site is served over HTTPS. Server logs are kept on the hosting provider's infrastructure, which maintains its own security standards. We don't store personal data in any database, which materially reduces the surface area for a breach.

Changes to this policy

If we update this policy we'll change the "last updated" date at the top. Significant changes will be noted prominently on the homepage for a reasonable period.
